What is the Youth Opportunity Fund?

The Youth Opportunity Fund is a pot of money given to us by the Government until 2011 to get more for young people's involved in new and exciting activities.  The pot of money is there for young people to bid into for the sort's of things young people like to do but have never had the chance to.  This may be things like residentials, DJ workshops, arts projects, developing projects which benefit other young people, etc.

The fund is managed by a group of young people from across North East Lincolnshire, who meet to consider and discuss your bid for funding and decide on how the funding will be given out. There are three groups of young people that meet to make decsions and they run from Whitgft, Western and Clee young people's centres.

Also with this money NEL YouthBank looks at bids form projects that help young people from across NELincs not just in one area. for more information on NEL YouthBank visit the project's section were you'll find more information.

There is also a pot of money called the Youth Captial Fund (YCF) this is going to used to help update young people's centre's in your areas, to offer you a update and great buildings to do what you like to do in them.

 So What's Your Next Step?

Talk to your friends and/or group members about what you'd like to do.  Click the link to the funding pot that you're interested in. Read the funding criteria, and complete the application pack and send it in! Work with a helpful adult if you would find that useful.  This could be your teacher, youth worker, carer, connexions pa, etc. Good luck and have fun!
