Young people from Whitgift, Immingham and the surrounding villages came together to take part in and achieve their ABRS Level 2 horse riding and stable management certificates.

For the riding, the young people learnt how to lead and mount their ponies as well as how to walk, halt, turn and go forward into a working rising trot.  On the stable management the young people learnt how the various different colours of ponies, name parts of the tack, how to groom a pony and learned what different brushes were used for, learnt how to pick the muck out of ponies hooves as well as what they eat.

After lunch the young people took part in pony games, such as the egg and spoon race, the sack race as well as weaving races.  All the young people enjoyed themselves and had a good laugh!!

Well done to Ryan Kent, Ariel Stoneman, Chloe Charles, Amy Brown, Amy Dennis, Zoe Friend, Megan West, Abigail Connell and Emma Pinchbeck.

Special thanks go out to all staff at Cottager's Plot - Suzanne & Sophie Brown, Kim, Kate and Holly, as well as the horses and ponies used on the day!
